#1 Pet Picked Up By Animal Control (Pet On The Loose)

• $125.00 for First-Time Pet Pickup
• $250.00 for Second-Time Pet Pickup
• $375.00 for Third-Time Pet Pickup

All Subsequent Pet Pickups: Pet Will Become Property of the Town of Canton.

#2 Housing Fee (Feed & Care)

Each pet will be fed, watered, given outdoor time, and provided a clean, safe environment.

$10.00 per day for each pet while housed at Animal Control.

#3 Surrenders

Any citizen within the town limits of Canton may surrender their pet to Animal Control.

Pet owner must complete pet surrender forms.

• $75.00 surrender fee for each pet without vaccination records
• $50.00 surrender fee for each pet with vaccination records
  

#4 Adoptions

Any adopters must complete adoption forms.

• $50.00 adoption fee.

#5 Vaccinations

Every pet owner of a domestic cat and/or dog must have a yearly rabies vaccination from a licensed veterinarian.

• Cost is based on your personal veterinarian.

#5 Town Licenses

The Town of Canton requires every owner of cats and/or dogs to obtain Town of Canton tags annually.

These can be obtained by visiting Canton Town Hall.

Pet owners must provide the current year certificate of rabies vaccination (the metal tag will not be accepted as proof of vaccination).

• There is a minimal fee for Canton Town tags: $2.00 to $3.00 per pet, depending on whether the pet is spayed/neutered or unaltered.
